A covenant relationship
He (Jesus Christ) is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
Hebrews 8:6 - NKJV
Think, for a moment, of the mighty things God's people in ancient times did! They did these things because of the covenant relationship they had with God. For example, in a covenant relationship with God David slew Goliath, Abraham had a son in his old age, and Joshua with the children of Israel possessed the Promised Land.
One morning in prayer I was making requests to the Lord for projects I was involved in. As I struggled over what to pray God's Spirit started to bring to my mind scriptures proclaiming God's promises of promotion. These promises encouraged me. They gave direction to my prayer and a sense of excited anticipation over what was to come. Promises in scripture tell us the conditions that prevail for God's people because of our covenant relationship with Him. Promotion is one of those conditions. God promotes His people in their land! Here are scriptures that provide such promises: Prov.22:29, 18:16, Prov.3:3-4.
I began above by telling you some examples of the exploits of God's people under the Old Testament covenants. Now think about this: you have a better covenant established upon better promises. It is the New Covenant. The New Covenant is an everlasting covenant that God calls His Covenant of Peace. The New Covenant provides salvation for you in all your realms of existence - body, soul and spirit, financial and social. By the New Covenant you have God's protection, provision and promotion. In the New Covenant you will do exploits! Dan.11:32.
Rejoice in the promises of your covenant!
