Joshua People
The Lord spoke to Joshua, "No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you.
Joshua 1:1,5 - NKJV
The words above were spoken to Joshua. Nevertheless, excitingly that promise didn't end there! As the letter to the Hebrews draws to a close, the apostle Paul receives and declares those words as the Word of God to us all. (See Heb.13:5) By that declaration Paul established those words as being a promise to you and me. Those words describe our wonderful condition and relationship with God.
The way God was with Joshua so He is now with you! God's security plan for you is the same arrangement that he had with Joshua, "No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life." This means that, walking vitally united with Jesus, no one will be able to stand up against you to take you down! One morning in prayer I heard in my spirit five statements about God's relationship to us: 1) You are known of God. 2) God is ever watchful over you. 3) He is ever mindful of you. 4) His heart is towards you. 5) His desire is that you may see good in the land all the days of your life. See Isaiah 41:10-13 and 54:14-17.
In your relationship with God the title "overcomer" has been given to you! Joshua walked with God as an overcomer. You will begin living your life as an overcomer the moment you begin walking in the spirit by faith - attention focused on God-with-you! Walk by faith in who you are in Christ Jesus. Walk by faith in who is with you. Then like Joshua you'll cross the obstacles, meet the adversities and take possession of the land God has promised you. 1Joh.5:4-5.
