The Daily Guide
New beginnings
They stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, supposing him to be dead. However, when the disciples gathered around him, he rose up and went into the city, And the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe.
Acts 14:19-20 - NKJV
Do you feel as if things have come to an end in some area of your life? God delights in raising up His people and giving them new beginnings! He raised up Paul when Paul looked as good as dead. Paul's enemies thought he was finished. They thought they'd killed him. It certainly looked like the end of things for Paul. By all appearances his life and ministry was over. Nevertheless, at that awful time his companions gathered around him in faith. Isa.43:19, Deut.32:30.
As Paul lay in the midst of them the power of God came upon him. His wrecked body got a foretaste of the physical redemption to come as the Spirit of God put new life in him and set him back on his feet! In a moment of time, he went from finished and fading away to refreshed and ready for new horizons! A day later he was on the road to his next destination in God! Once there he declared, "We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God" Act.14:22, Phil.3:21.
Maybe you're down and left for dead financially, socially, physically, mentally or spiritually. Take courage and receive hope from Paul's recovery. What God did for Paul He can do for you! You've been groaning, "Oh, I'm going through it!" Now make the sort of joyous declaration of faith Paul would have made, "God will raise me and take me through this! I'll arrive soon in a new place of life by the power of God's Spirit!"
God will set you on your feet again!
