Better than gold
(This is so) that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honour, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 1:7 - NKJV
There's a lot of supposed faith around but what we all need is unfeigned faith - the kind that can stand being tested and show itself to be the real thing! What we need is the real thing! The days we live in demand it! The instabilities, the pressures and the confrontations of this age are uncovering what kind of faith you've got. May you stand by the genuineness of your faith!
Faith is not a mysterious thing - it is simply taking God at His word! People of unfeigned faith choose to see things as God's word declares things. King David said God's word was to him a light for his path. He was as good as saying to the Lord, "Your word is what I see by!" It's like the modern electronic scopes used by military and police forces. They use these scopes to allow them to see things by the radiation coming from them at wave lengths on the electro-magnetic spectrum beyond the range detectable by the human eye. People of faith operate that way using God's word. For them faith is the evidence of things not seen by natural perception. Instead of walking by sight they walk by faith. Psa.119:105, Heb.11:1.
You can have unfeigned faith. A measure of faith is given to you and it is up to you to increase that measure of faith by hearing again and again God's Word delivered to your heart by God's Spirit. In this way your measure of faith will grow and get large enough to powerfully effect your life. Rom.12:3, 10:17.
Grow in faith, walk by faith!
