Fellowship
What we have seen and heard, we are also telling you, so that you too may realize and enjoy fellowship as partners and partakers with us. And (this) fellowship that we have (which is a distinguishing mark of Christians) is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.
1 John 1:3 - Amplified Bible
I went away overnight on a course. The course was held in a country house hotel and the food was quite superb. The evening meal was particularly special but I knew I wasn't enjoying it as much as I would have expected. As I wondered why I realised it was because my wife wasn't there to share the experience with. A shared experience enhances the experience, especially if it's with someone close.
"Fellowship" is the word that describes the sharing of our Christian experience. Such fellowship is a link up. It's believers coming together for Gospel partnership and companionship. A bond of friendship called brotherly love flourishes in such a fellowship. In such a fellowship you soon discover you are there for one another both to celebrate your times of triumph and to help in the moments of need. In fellowship there is an enhancement of your experience of worship, prayer, God's Word and the Christian life-style.
Fellowship isn't always easy but it is precious. Here are some points to help you in fellowship: 1) Accept other believers just as they are with all their weaknesses, knowing you have weaknesses too. 2) Bear with one another's shortcomings, while believing that together you'll become stronger and better. 3) Have a gentle and kind spirit with one another. 4) Walk in God's love. Ro.12:10, Gal.6:1, 1Cor.13:3-8.
Let yourself enjoy the fellowship of the saints!
