Health to all your flesh

by Pastor Simon

My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart. For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.

Proverbs 4:22 - NKJV

Good medical practitioners are God's compassion on people of the world. We, the people of the Church, also find help with them in time of need. Yet, as we grow in faith and the knowledge of God's ways we access more of the health and healing brought to us by Christ. We start to need the doctors less. Whatever your situation at present, whether you're often at the doctors or very seldom, be sure you're making the Word of God the primary prescription you take. In finding them and immersing yourself in them the words of God are health to all your flesh. They are a curative, a medicine!

There was a science fiction film made in the 1980s called Cocoon. In it a group of residents from a retirement home plunged into the water of a neighbour's swimming pool. It turned out the water contained a life force meant to sustain survival pods - cocoons - from a distant world. Through jumping in that water the old folks got to partake of that life force. By it they were healed and revitalised. I found this a great visualisation of what the water of God's Word can do for you and me.

God's Word is a container of spirit and life for you. God's Word, once in your heart, deposits life and spirit there for the maintaining and restoring of your health in every area - physical, mental and emotional. Get apart every day for a session in God's Word. Immerse yourself in it diligently at some time every day! His Word will be life and health to you. Joh.6:63.
