Wagon train to glory
I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us...For we were saved in this hope...if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.
Romans 8:18-25 - NKJV
Years ago we used to sing a song that began, "Let's get on this wagon train for glory. Let's get on this wagon train with Him!" Singing it always gave me a picture of travelling forwards to new frontiers with Jesus. In the same way the Bible passage at the top encourages me. It's a good reminder that though the journey right now may be uncomfortable the destination we're coming to will make it worth it all! 2Cor.4:17-18.
The day you got saved you boarded Jesus' Gospel wagon train. That wagon train's destination is glory! Stay on board. Stay confident in the One who's out their leading you forward. Who's that? It's Jesus who is your good wagon train leader! At times the going does get tough but Jesus will see you through. The terrain may look rough and even desolate but don't look around, look forwards. Look forwards to the One who is leading you to glory. 2Thes.2:13-14, 2Cor.2:14.
You can make it through the tough times! You can do it rejoicing. Focus on what you're going to, not what you're going through! God has a hope and a future for you called glory! In the meantime, get out your map, the Bible, and let it show you the landmarks you're passing. Those landmarks tell you your progress and picture for you the glory of your final destination. Enjoy too the companionship of your fellow travellers. Jer.29:11.
Jesus knows how to get you there!
