The way of victory
We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts.
2 Peter 1:19 - KJV
Have you been looking for a way out into success or through into victory? This scripture above is instructing you, "Give the Word your closest attention and soon you'll see the way you've been looking for!" The light can be turned on in your life by the Word of God. What's required is that you give attention to it and give it an opening into your life!
Consider Joshua's predicament. After Moses died he had to lead the children of Israel. He and they had spent forty years wandering in the Wilderness so his first task was to find a way out of there into a successful conquest of the Promised Land. How was he to approach this? God was very specific with Joshua. He told him precisely how he was going to have good success. In paraphrase He said, "Get My Word in your mouth! Reflect on what you hear and you'll come to see how to do it!" Josh.1:8.
Take heed as Joshua did to God's Word and two things are going to come about! Spiritual day is going to dawn for you and the Day Star is going to arise in your heart! In other words, the light's going to come on in your life and you are going to see Jesus as your shepherd! Here's what it means to "give heed" to God's Word. 1) Have your mouth speak it so your ears hear it. 2) Be well inclined to do what you hear! 3) Have the Word before your eyes. You'll be more accurate with it that way. 4) Give it entrance and place within your heart. By those four steps give heed and expect to see your way! Prov.4:20-22.
