The Companion, your guide
Behold, I send an Angel before you to keep you in the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared.
Exodus 23:20 - NKJV
God's got great plans for you. To come into those plans, though, you need the companionship of the Holy Spirit. The Angel referred to above is the Holy Spirit. If you live in insensitiveness to the Holy Spirit then what you get in life won't be much different from what the people of this world get. Like them you are likely to get unexpected loses and turmoil! You need the leading of the Holy Spirit. Jer.29:11.
Why wander into any situation unguided and uncounselled? Jesus has sent His Holy Spirit to you to be your Guide and Counsellor! The Lord has given you His Spirit so that you can receive all the insight (and foresight) you need to carry you safely to the place He has prepared for you. Indeed, angels (ministering spirits) have been appointed the task of keeping you safe. Remember, though, the condition they are given to operate under. The Amplified Bible states that condition this way, "angels to preserve you in all your ways of obedience and service". In the Lord's service stay in obedience to the promptings of the Holy Spirit. Ps.91:11.
Travel onwards into the bright future God has for you. As you go, commune with the Holy Spirit. Keep checking in with Him. Ask yourself these questions, "What's the witness, prompting or urging He's giving me here?" and "Is the Holy Spirit's peace present in my heart, umpiring that all is fine and so I know I can proceed?" and "Is God's Spirit giving me a green light or do I need to wait on Him awhile?" Isa.64:4.
