The righteousness of the saints
Be angry, and do not sin. Meditate within your heart on your bed, and be still. Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord.
Psalm 4:4-5 - NKJV
The prophets wrote of it and we have received it. What I am referring to? It's the righteousness of God declared quite apart from the Law. It's the righteousness of God through faith. We believe and our believing is accounted to us for righteousness. Through faith in Jesus Christ raised from the dead the righteousness of God is upon us. Rom.3:21-22, 4:22-25, 10:10.
As a Christian, you have received the gift of righteousness. This gift is through Jesus Christ and is given to you because you have accepted His sacrifice as the Lamb of God. By ministering in the Heavenly Sanctuary His own blood - the blood of the Lamb - Jesus, our High Priest, has brought to you the gift of righteousness. You now have a position of righteousness with God - you're in right standing with Him. You have positional righteousness through the blood of Jesus! This positional righteousness prepares you for practical righteousness. Because of this gift you are enabled to demonstrate practical righteousness! Study Romans chapter 6.
Give yourself to the service of righteousness. In service, you give up what you would prefer to do so as to do what you ought to do. Offer the sacrifices of righteousness. Your commitment to serving righteousness will require times of sacrifice. Learn to offer the sacrifices of righteousness continually, just as you have become used to offering the sacrifices of praise continually! Do it as a commitment. Do it by faith, instead of waiting on feelings!
Offer the sacrifices of righteousness!
