You have come to Mount Zion, and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem.

Hebrews 12:22 - NKJV

What's heaven going to be like? If you have a holiday booked I'm sure you've found out about the place you're going to. Well, what about the place you've booked into for after leaving your earthly body behind? You're booked into the Heavenly City. John the Beloved was taken on a tour of it and wrote down in detail what he saw. It's recorded in Revelation 21 and 22. As a young believer I memorised that description John provided us with. I needed faith in the life that was for me after death and this passage gave it to me. Now I can always visualise my home in eternity.

Christ has given you a divine citizenship! You are a citizen of the city whose builder and maker is God. That city is the Heavenly City - New Jerusalem. Down through the ages, all of God's children have looked for that place. Jesus has brought citizenship of it to you and me. The Heavenly City has become our homeland. It's the place God has prepared for us to live in with Him eternally. Eph.3:20; Heb.11:10,13-16; Rev.21:2; Gal.4:26.

New Jerusalem is our future - it is also our present. Already we have citizenship. We are its representatives on earth. We are the ambassadors of Jerusalem that is above. We are Christ's envoys of good news from God the Father and we tell of His goodwill and love for all the inhabitants of the earth. How can we live any longer the world's way when we know a life that is so much better! Our lives and lifestyle are to be that place, not of this! 2 Cor.5:20; 1 Pet.2:9-10.

Live today as Heaven's envoy!
