The Daily Guide
Food for thought
Brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Philippians 4:8 - KJV
What are you allowing to be fed into your life? Are you on a mental and emotional diet of love, joy, peace and faith from the Holy Spirit? Or is there another element in your mental and emotional diet that comes from the world? What are you mentally and emotionally feeding on? What the mind welcomes and entertains, the heart will come to welcome and, therefore, afterwards be filled with.
Input determines output. If you input, for example, rice to the machine at a factory producing breakfast cereal it won't be cornflakes you will get out - it'll be rice crispies or something of that sort! Similarly with yourself and others, if you feed in fear you won't get out faith products but fear products. People who constantly consume a television "diet" of fearful portrayals of crime and disaster are likely to end up as shut-ins, frightened to go outside their homes.
Proverbs exhort us, "Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life." The major gateway to your heart is your mind. Keep that gateway! Put a Customs Officer at the entrance to your mind. Have a check put on the baggage for what's being carried in. Bar entry to potentially dangerous substances and alien objects likely to cause mayhem! By the Holy Spirit discern what is going to be wholesome for you. Prov.4:23.
Input peace for an output of peace!
