Wise to the strategy

by Pastor Simon

Therefore we wanted to come to you - even I, Paul, time and again - but Satan hindered us.

1 Thessalonians 2:18 - NKJV

Satan will hinder you if he can. Whenever God gives you a vision for your future the devil is likely to step in hinder it. This happens most at that moment when you're ready to step out into the vision. The devil hates to see the visions God gives getting fulfilled. Nevertheless, there's good news - he can have no success if you resist him and refuse to quit participating in the vision's fulfilment.

What's the devil's strategy against a vision's fulfilment? It's to hinder things so much you change your confession and quit on the vision. It goes like this. When you get a vision from God you get excited. As a result, you say, "God's envisioned me with a new project!" Obstacles, though, then arise and movement forward on the vision seems to almost come to a halt. At this, you can find yourself saying, "I thought God gave me this vision but perhaps it was just me." Do you see what's happened there? By that you've buckled under the pressure of the devil's hindering strategy.

What should you do in the face of such a strategy? You should pray in faith and power! Here's some guidelines on how. 1) Gather up some precious Bible promises. Do this imagining you are like David - he gathered up for his sling pebbles at the brook so he could bring down Goliath. (The Bible promises you gather will be like the pebbles David gathered!) 2) Pray those promises or speak them aloud as a declaration. 3) Call a prayer partner. Get him or her praying in agreement with you against the hindrance and for the vision. Mat.16:16-19, 18:18-20.

Stay with the vision God gave you!
