Resting in the Lord
Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.
Psalm 37:3-5 - NKJV
Release your heart's desires into God's hands. Your heart's desires are important to God and for this reason He wants you to know what to do with them. Deposit your desires with God - just like you cast your cares on Him. He wants to take care of them for you. Deposit them with God and trust Him to fulfil them in their due time. God will see to it that your desires come to you perfectly timed and perfectly formed like a healthy baby born on due date.
It's easy to start getting resentful or even angry at seeing others getting what they want while your desires remain unfulfilled. By faith in God and comfort in the Holy Spirit you can rise above that. Apostle Paul makes it clear that he had. He was content in whatever state he was. He was living free of the worldly demanding which says, "I've got to have it and I've got to have it right now!" Look to live as he did. Phil.4:10-11.
How could Paul be content in whatever state he was in? Almost certainly, it was because he engaged daily in heartfelt prayer in which he let God know his concerns and released his desires to Him. You can do as he did! Here's five things to do towards that: 1.) Revel in God's faithfulness. 2.) Delight yourself in the Lord, 3.) Commit to God the way towards your heart's desires. 4.) Trust Him for the outcome. 5.) Live in a sphere of good labours in Christ Jesus.
Let God take care of your heart's desires!
