Christ arose triumphant
He Himself (Jesus) also, in the same way, took on Him a share of it (that perishable human nature), in order that through death He might render powerless him who had authority over death, that is, the Devil.
Hebrews 2:14 - Wesley's New Testament
On Easter Sunday morning many churches sing that beautiful, old hymn of the resurrection by Robert Lowry. The chorus goes, "Up from the grave He arose, with a mighty triumph o'er His foes; He arose the victor from the dark domain, And He lives forever with His saints to reign; He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose!"
What a marvellous revelation Robert Lowry had of Christ's resurrection! In the resurrection he saw Christ's total triumph over death, the devil and his dark domain! May this revelation come alive in God's children in nations around the globe. I pray wherever this hymn is sung this Easter that this revelation given to Lowry is revealed to the hearts of those singing it! The devil is no longer to be feared and no longer to have control in the arena of death. Christ lives. He conquered death. He disarmed the principalities and powers of the dark domain. He rendered the devil impotent. The devil lost his power of death when Christ arose. You and I can now reign with Christ in His triumph. Col.2:15; Heb.2:14-15; Ro.5:17; Heb.10:12-13.
Christ is expecting us to put His enemies under our feet because of His victory! Let's arise in the power of authoritative prayer because we know Christ has triumphed. Let's by prayer in the countries we live in be a determining factor in the destinies of our nations. 2Cor.2:14.
May we enter with Christ into His victory!
