An inheritance for you!
God...who...has begotten us again...to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you who are kept by the power of God through faith.
1 Peter 1:3-5 - NKJV
The Lord greatly encouraged me one morning with a whole string of scriptures that culminated in the one above. The day previous to that I had been sorting through my bills and I woke up that morning very aware of them. A short while later, in devotions, I presented the need to the Lord and immediately I began getting a leading (guidance of the Holy Spirit) in prayer.
Do you realise without guidance you can pray misdirected prayers? Your emotions or your own notions can get you praying prayers that aren't tapping in to the available resources of God. However, if you will open prayer with praise that magnifies God then a revelation of kingdom power can come to you by God's Spirit. This is what happened to me that morning - the Holy Spirit beamed light stored up in scripture on to my situation. He revealed the wonderful connection between my need and God's resources. I began to pray accordingly. Eph.3:20.
The inheritance apostle Peter refers to above is that inheritance Jesus has provided for you. You choose to place yourself within its sphere. As you tithe, give offerings and put your trust in God you connect yourself financially to the rich treasury which is God's in Heaven. Stand in that treasury and pray with thankful praise, "Father, I look to You and ask of You that You supply all my earthly financial needs according to Your riches in glory by Jesus Christ". Deut.28:12, Phil.4:19.
