Sustaining grace!
The ark of the covenant overlaid on all sides with gold, in which were the golden pot that had the manna, Aaron's rod that budded, and the tablets of the covenant.
Hebrews 9:4 - NKJV
The manna of the Old Covenant illustrated for the people the generous manifestation in their lives of God's covenant with them. Today, under the New Covenant, grace does this very same thing for us! Grace like manna comes to us unmerited, yet daily and freely given in complete sufficiency. You can imagine the children of Israel under Moses saying to one another, "Have you got your manna for today yet?" In the same manner I say to you, "Have you got your grace for today yet?" 2Cor.12:9.
The gift of the manna can teach you much about the gift of grace. Manna came from heaven to earth daily and all God's people had to do was gather it in. So it is with grace. Let's rejoice that every day it is made available to us. The Bible tells us to come boldly to His throne of grace to find it. It will help see us through our day in all health and well-being! It is not found in the hustle and bustle of the camp but it is there in all sufficiency at the assigned location. Heb.4:16
Manna didn't carry over for the next day - except by special dispensation. What was unused yesterday was unusable today! In the same way, God's grace is provided for today and for each day as it comes. You can't be sustained in life by yesterday's grace. Today go again to the throne of grace! Seek it early in your day - don't wait till things hot up and you find yourself without it! Receive grace at God's throne for yourself and your family!
Wake up and find grace for today!
