The name of salvation

by Pastor Simon

It shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, as the Lord has said, Among the remnant whom the Lord calls.

Joel 2:32 - NKJV

Have you called on the name of the Lord? Look at the verse above and see what the prophet Joel declares! Salvation is only a call away - a call of faith, a call on the name of the Lord. Jesus, the Man of Salvation, has done all that was necessary to provide that salvation. In every way, as one of God's people, it is now available to you!

One particular morning in my devotional time I didn't know what to pray or what scripture to ponder. Then I was reminded of the name of Jesus. I was also drawn to the place in scripture where His name is declared to be above all names. This led me into a glorious time of prayer and worship which refreshed me greatly. Remember, Jesus' name is your place of rest from your enemies and safety from every storm. You call on His name and God sets you on high out of reach of evil and the evil one. Phil.2:10, Psa.91:14.

Run to the secure height above your enemies around about you. Call on the name of Jesus! To call on the name of the Lord is to spiritually run into His name as your place of refuge! Call on His name and you enter the safe haven that His precious name provides. It calms the distressed and restores the weary. It settles you down in confidence. Call out, "Jesus, my Saviour, my Lord, I come to you! I call on Your precious name, Jesus! In the name of Jesus I am saved!" Prov.18:10, Psa.91:15.

Run into the strong tower! Prov.18:10
