Make time for God
He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?
Micah 6:8 - NKJV
How easily many of us get into activity and duty to the neglect of relationship and love! God seeks our love and desires our relationship. Consider the verse above and make a fresh examination of your walk with God. Remember, God wants most of all your relationship with Him which is made possible through Jesus.
I once heard a story about a little girl who spent all her usual daily time with her father making him a pair of slippers for Christmas. On Christmas day she presented the slippers and he received them gladly but then he lovingly added, "I like the slippers but I missed so much our time together. It's your love for me and the time you share with me that I value most." Do we do as that little girl did? Do we neglect our time with our heavenly Father to "make Him something"? God delights in seeing His children spending time loving and enjoying Him. And you know what? It's through our time with Him that we come to love mercy and do justly.
There will always be battles and demands in this life but refuse to allow them to distract you from loving and enjoying God! Christ has victory for you! When Jehoshaphat had a crisis threatening him he resisted getting caught up in frantic action. Instead he acknowledged his dependence on God. He called on Him and gave Him responsibility for the fight. God responded with a promise of victory and Jehoshaphat appointed people to sing and praise God! 2 Chron.20
Daily step aside to love and enjoy God!
