An exuberant confidence

by Pastor Simon

No unbelief or distrust made him (Abraham) waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong and was empowered by faith as he gave praise and glory to God.

Romans 4:20 - Amplified Bible

There is a dynamic of praise Abraham demonstrated that we have yet to properly take hold of! Abraham's confidence in God's promise caused him to give praise and glory to God. This, in turn, caused him to grow strong in and find himself empowered by faith!

Sing for joy! Praise and glorify God! This is the proper expression of your confidence in God and His promises. This is how Abraham received the promise of God that a child would be born to him and he would so become a father of many nations. In confidence, he embraced the promise and at the promised he praised and glorified God. In this way, he found his faith made strong! What have you received promise of? If you will praise and glorify God as an expression of your confidence in it then one day, like Abraham, the "child" of the promise will be born to you!

The Bible is packed with promises of God for you. They are a precious component of God's Word. God declares that He will watch over this Word to perform it. (Jer.1:12, 29:10.) God will see to it that His promises are fulfilled to those who trust Him. What is our part in coming to their fulfilment? It is to rejoice in confidence at what God has undertaken to do. It is to wait in exuberant confidence for Him to perform it. Read and take to heart the promises directed toward you. Rejoice in them. Rehearse to yourself God's faithfulness. Revel in the Father's love!

Confidently rejoice at what God has promised to perform
