You are redeemed!
Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for His is good! For His mercy endures forever. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy, and gathered us out of the lands.
Psalm 107:1-2 - NKJV
One of the greatest excitements I have in Christ is that of being redeemed! One morning I started picking out some parts from the Curse of the Law. (You can read all the aspects of it in Deuteronomy 28:16-68.) I was reading them and then rejoicing excitedly at being redeemed from them. I really got into thanksgiving! I began declaring to heaven and earth, "I am the redeemed and I know it. I am redeemed by the blood of the Lamb!"
The phrase "the hand of the enemy" in the psalm above causes most Christians to think of their adversary the devil. Certainly, he is an adversary to you and. praise God, over him Christ was victorious - a victory you can now walk in. However, note this, the enemy you were specifically "in the hand of" was sin. Sin was your enemy. It is out of the hand of sin that Christ has redeemed you. The glorious result of that is that you are redeemed from the curse. Christ has redeemed you from the Curse of the Law! Shout for joy you've been redeemed from Curse of the Law! 2Cor.2:14, Tit.2:14, Gal.3:13.
Hardly a day goes by, without me rejoicing in redemption and blessing God for the tremendous effect redemption has had, and continues to have, on my life. Health, happiness and peace are there for me to walk in because of redemption. They are there for you too. Accept and walk in them as part of the gracious package the Lord has provided in redemption! Proclaim aloud your redemption and give thanks to God!
Get excited - you're the redeemed!
