The Daily Guide
A clear run on goal
"I will make darkness light before them, and crooked places straight. These things I (the Lord) will do for them, and not forsake them."
Isaiah 42:16 - NIV
As you venture forward in life it's often not long before the way ahead starts to look crooked and the places ahead dark. People without Christ get lost on such routes. However, God has a plan so this doesn't have to happen to you. God's planning for you to arrive at the place you have a vision to be in without stumbling over unseen obstacles or going dizzy negotiating unending bends. God plans to be ahead of you straightening the crooked places out and shining light where there was darkness.
One morning I got a phone call that something was malfunctioning and needing attention. Arranging for its repair was likely to be both time consuming and distracting. However, I had started my day in prayer with my Bible open at the scripture above and so consequently I was looking to the Lord as I listened. As a result, some information the person gave stood out to me as a signpost to God's straight way through. I followed it up and the whole situation was sorted out in moments instead of hours!
I'm reminded of football (USA = soccer). In football, the opposition's defence is playing to hinder every possible scoring opportunity. In contrast, the attacking side's midfield players are playing to assist their forwards get free for a clear effort on goal. God is the greatest assisting player ever! Welcome God on your side! Call on God to set you up for a straight path on goal. Be alert to the Holy Spirit so He can position you to make the most of God's assist.
Let God make a way!
