The Daily Guide
In Christ the future is bright!
You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day...A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you.
Psalm 91:5,7 - NKJV
These are days to really dwell on the promises God has made to you. God has a program of triumph for His people even in troublesome times. Towards this end, Psalm 91 needs to be basic study material for you. It's good to read about this world's future in chapters like Matthew 24 but first get the promises of Psalm 91 in your heart. Psalm 91 is a psalm for our times. It promises to us refuge in God even in troublesome times. Even as evil men and deceivers grow worse and worse we have promise of protection in God. 2Tim.3:13.
"What is the world coming to," people say in response to things they hear on the news. It is just an exclamation. It should, though, be a question every Christian asks. What times are we living in? Where's this all heading? These are questions the prophetic word in the Bible provides an answer for. God's prophetic word shines light on the events and conditions of our times. With this light we do not have to walk in darkness and dismay. God reveals the future to His children. He does so in order that we may know He has a glorious plan and a program of protection, provision and peace for us at all times. 1Thes.4:13-5:5.
Whatever comes up or comes against you, do not tremble! You are to be far from oppression and terror as you dwell in your covenant relationship with God. God's revelation of the future for His children is a glorious one. Learn about it and learn of His promises towards you. It will still your mind and emotions in the face of any and every bad report from this world and its newscasters. Isa.55:14, 50:10, Mic.7:8.
There's always refuge and safety for you in God!
