Sharing His grace
Serve one another with the particular gifts God has given each of you, as faithful dispensers of the wonderfully varied grace of God.
1 Peter 4:10 - J.B. Phillips' Translation
Grace shows up all over our lives. It dynamically aids us to accomplish things to God's glory. It bestows gifts in our lives. When we are responsive to it we find we have more than adequate equipping for every circumstance or occasion. Yet grace is something we often fail to recognise because it's so wonderfully varied in form and format. Each of us would do well to be praying, "Lord, open my eyes to Your grace towards me!"
Here in England we often refer to pharmacists as dispensers. A pharmacist dispenses diligently, according to the doctor's direction, the products he has charge over. Let's follow that example and with the Lord's direction minister the products of grace He has given us charge over. Because of grace each one of us has a lot to give! God's grace through Jesus Christ means that a wealth of spiritual blessing has come into our lives. This wealth is not for us alone but so we can enrich the lives of others with the knowledge of God. We are to be faithful dispensers of God's grace.
What you often take for granted in your life as your talents or gifts is actually a demonstration of the grace of God. What you possess is a part of the flow of God's grace towards you. You have a responsibility not to hoard it up but to administer it. You are a steward of treasure entrusted to your care. As a steward of God may you bless the community you have stewardship in.
Be a good steward of Christ's riches
