Sharing His grace

Serve one another with the particular gifts God has given each of you, as faithful dispensers of the wonderfully varied grace of God.

Grace shows up all over our lives. It dynamically aids us to accomplish things to God's glory. It bestows gifts in our lives. When we are responsive to it we find we have more than adequate equipping for every circumstance or occasion. Yet grace is something we often fail to recognise because it's so wonderfully varied in form and format. Each of us would do well to be praying, "Lord, open my eyes to Your grace towards me!"

Here in England we sometimes refer to pharmacists as dispensers. A pharmacist dispenses according to the doctor's direction the products he has charge over. This can be used as an illustration of Christian ministry. As Christians we are to be God's dispensers of God's grace. Under the Lord's direction, we are called to minister the products of grace He has given us charge over. Reflect for a moment on the grace through Jesus Christ that has come to you and how by it you have inherited a wealth of spiritual blessings. This wealth is for you to pass on and share. With it you can be a faithful dispenser of God's grace.

You are a steward of treasure entrusted into your care. This treasure shows itself in different forms in different Christian lives but it is there. What you often take for granted in your life as a talent or gift is actually a demonstration of the grace of God. Your talent or gift is a manifestation of the flow of God's grace towards you. This is what the apostle Peter is referring to in the scripture above. Today recognise what you have in Christ and then, using it, share the good news called the Gospel with those you meet.
