The spirit of faith
We have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, "I believed and therefore I spoke," we also believe and therefore speak.
2 Corinthians 4:13 - NKJV - NKJV
It's the words you speak that bring the faith you have to a tangible result. Speaking out words to match your faith is important. Look at the teaching Jesus gave His disciples on how faith and the words you say link up. In Mark 11:22-23 we hear Him say, "Whoever believes that those things he says will done, he will have whatever he says."
The hardest time to keep in the spirit of faith is in times of trial. In such times I go to scripture. I have two scripture passages that particularly help me. One is Psalm 112:6-8, part of which says, "The righteous will not be afraid of evil tidings." The other is Psalm 62:5-8 where I read, "My soul, my expectation is from God." Those words encourage me to keep speaking in the spirit of faith. What do you speak when you speak out of the spirit of faith? You speak words of confidence that God is for you. You speak words of trust that He is ready to deliver you. You speak believing words that He is ready to lead you to victory! See Daniel 3:17.
Jesus exhorted us to faith. He said, "Have faith in God!" We also see in the teaching He gave on faith His instruction to speak according to your faith. How can you earnestly follow up on His teaching? First, you are to accept faith in God as a gift through His Son, Jesus. Then, you are to follow this up by hearing and hearing God's word so faith by it can be added to you and increase. Thirdly, establish this in you by speaking in faith. Speaking words of faith maintain you in the spirit of faith.
Speak in the spirit of faith!
