Your hunger for God

by Pastor Simon

You're blessed when you've worked up a good appetite for God. He's food and drink in the best meal you'll ever eat!

Matthew 5:6 - The Message Translation

How much appetite is there in you to get alone with God? How is your hunger to have God all to yourself and to let God have you all to Himself? Such intimacy with the Father is made possible through His Son, Jesus. You need in your life an appetite for God. Plenty of people have an appetite for signs and wonders. God, though, seeks those who have an appetite for Him. Signs and wonders are great but may there be in the Church most of all a hunger for God Himself!

Sometimes it's not another convention or speaker you need. Instead, it's a drawing aside to meet in a quiet, solitary place for sweet fellowship your Heavenly Father. Gathering with other believers for united worship and hearing the Word of God preached is both special and important. Equally, and at the same time, there is a need in your life for a constantly developing personal and intimate relationship with God. A great truth is declared in the words, "God loves each of us as if there were only one of us." Further more, God desires to be known by each of us as if He only met one of us at a time.

Stir up your hunger for God. Step aside from all the busyness of your day to worship Him as God your Heavenly Father. Open your Bible and let God's Spirit bring a verse of scripture to life for you. Worship and God's written word will increase your appetite for God! It will result in you seeking Him and finding Him. You'll knock at the door of intimacy and it will be opened to you. You'll find satisfaction, security and peace in that place of communion with Him. Mat.7:7-8.

Fellowship with God as His child!
