The Living Church

by Pastor Simon

I have forgiven that one for your sakes in the presence of Christ, lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.

2 Corinthians 2:10-11 - NKJV

Count very precious your relationships with other believers. Give thanks daily for all that you have in those Christian relationships. Pray daily for your Gospel partners. By Gospel partners I mean those Christians who unite with you in zeal for God at the glad tidings of salvation. As the need arises call on such partners for prayer. Speak with those partners often. Stay in touch, maintaining your closeness with them. Forgive one another whenever forgiveness is needed.

The devil hates Christ's church. He knows the mighty force against him that it is. He is aware that Christians in church together are able to shut down his opportunities for stealing and destroying. The devil is like a roaring lion seeking prey. To him Christians with no alliances - no church bond - are easier prey. Christians separated from the flock have no one to raise the alarm for them when the "lion" draws near to make prey of them. 1Pet.5:8, 2Tim.2:26.

For this reason, act to strengthen your Christian relationships! Place yourself in the midst of the spiritual life of your church. This produces dynamic church membership which gives you spiritual protection as the church prays, builds one another up and encourages each other. Don't drift outwards from the centre of the alliance you have in church. Rather move yourself inwards at all times resisting the temptation to take offence or harbour unforgiveness! Heb.10:24-25

Thank God for your brethren in Christ!
