Seek God
You who seek God, inquiring for and requiring Him [as your first need], let your hearts revive and live! For the Lord hears the poor and needy and despises not His prisoners (His miserable and wounded ones).
Psalm 69:32-33 - The Amplified Bible
Faced by my frailties and failures I find comfort in knowing God is longsuffering towards me. He is full of compassion. His word gives me assurance that I can experience again His saving help. It's there available to me. I just need to acknowledge that there's a destitution about my life whenever He is not filling it. I need to call on Him for His strength and help! Psa.86:15.
King David was a man who acknowledged that it had to be God if anything good was going to come out of his life. In psalms we hear words from this man who acknowledged he was utterly dependent on the Lord. He knew this was what made for his prosperity, well-being and security. David came into possession of great earthly wealth, yet he did not deceive himself into thinking that in the riches and power of this world he had any assurance of continuing prosperity. David wholly relied on God to keep and increase him in peace.
You're deceiving yourself whenever you think you're going to get by well in this world without seeking God! Do not allow a good job, education or financial or social standing to deceive you into thinking you're going to get along fine without seriously seeking God, His deliverance and His strength. Get real about your condition - it's fragile, fallible and limited! Call on God daily to set you up in His power, wisdom, protection and provision! Psa.40:17
Find true security in God Almighty!
