Restore order by prayer
The prayer of a person living right with God is something powerful to be reckoned with.
James 5:16 - The Message
Instead of suffering through situations without help, pray and see God change things for the better. Prayer prayed by a praying person is powerful. Those who know Christ, turn away from anxiety and quickly turn to prayer. They petition God to stop the progress of defeat, disease and destruction in their lives. Make resorting to the Lord part of your Christian lifestyle. The Holy Spirit will teach you how to present your petitions effectively! Mat.16:18-19.
There was a particular occasion when our youngest child, Arthur, got hit by a tummy bug. My wife and I didn't waste any time with discussion about the cause. Instead we laid our hands on him immediately and prayed against it. Healing didn't instantly arise. Nevertheless, every time the affliction seemed to be getting the upper hand we prayed again, not as a repetition but as the Holy Spirit led at that moment. Soon the vomiting attack stopped. For awhile he looked weak yet it wasn't too long before he was boisterously at play again. Prayer got God's power on the scene re-establishing health in his body and in our household. Ja.5:14, Luk.18:1-8.
You'll learn most about prayer as you engage in prayer under the Holy Spirit's direction. Pray with the help of God's Spirit and you'll learn to pray according to the power of God within you! The more you pray in this way the more you'll know how to pray. The Gospels also give much instruction on prayer. Jesus taught the disciples how to pray. Like them we need to learn how to pray. Luk.11:1-13; Eph.3:20.
May your prayer life flourish in the Holy Spirit
