God's favour towards you
Grace, mercy, and peace from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.
1 Timothy 1:2 - NKJV
Grace, mercy and peace! What an all satisfying package of God's favour these three together make! The acronym of those three words is GMP. I like that because it reminds me that they indicate the health of my spiritual wealth in Christ. Why is it such a reminder? Because it's like the acronym used in speaking about this world's economies. The financial well-being of a nation is measured in terms of GNP which stands for Gross National Product. GNP is a measure of the health of the physical wealth of a nation.
Let's thank God that we have GMP. Grace, mercy and peace are three manifestations of the favour of God in our lives. Let's consider them one at a time: 1) Grace - "that merciful kindness by which God exerts His holy influence on souls and turns them to Christ, keeping and strengthening them." (Joseph Thayer) 2) Mercy - God's eternal heart of love and compassion for His people that is expressed so marvellously in the New Covenant that Jesus has brought us into. (See Lam.3:22) 3) Peace - which is "perfect well being, all necessary good, or spiritual prosperity, and freedom from fears and agitating passions and moral conflicts." (Amplified Bible)
GMP (Grace, Mercy and Peace) will transform your life! It will do likewise in your home, church and community. Seek it in your life. In Christ you will find it before the Throne of Grace as you pray, praise and meditate on God's Word! Share the grace, mercy and peace God grants you with those around you. Heb.4:16, 2 Pet.1:2.
