Praise is beautiful

by Pastor Simon

Praise the Lord! For it is good to sing praises to our God; for it is pleasant, and praise is beautiful.

Psalm 147:1 - NKJV

Praise is beautiful! As you partake in what is spiritually beautiful with the Lord then something of that beauty is imparted to you - it rubs off on you! King David seems to have got hold of this and revelled in it. Doesn't it seem likely that this was the reason he was able to write as his years advanced, "The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places"? Psa.16:6 (KJV)

The world says that beauty is only skin deep - that may be true for their celebrities but, in truth, true beauty comes from within - from the inside out! Our physical features - however they may be formed - take on a radiance and a grace of heaven when we live with our hearts vitally united with Christ. We have an example of this with Moses. After his time with God, his face shone so gloriously that it was too much for the people around him to take. He ended up putting a veil on his face like the women of some Middle Eastern countries are required to do. Psa.43:5, Exo.34:29-33.

The facial beauty of the saints is their God-given countenances that are reflections of His glory within them. You should seek this beauty that comes from within. It will be to you a blessing you can carry with you for those you live with and those you meet in your day. This is the beauty Peter was wanting all women of the church to have. This is the beauty that Abraham's wife, Sarah, walked in. This is the beauty that the years cannot wither! 1 Pet.3:3-6.

God gives beauty through praise in His presence!
