Eat, rest, replenish
Jacob's well was there. So Jesus, tired as He was from His journey, sat down [to rest] by the well.
John 4:6 - Amplified Bible
Are you taking rest? Have you sat at the well as Jesus did when He was tired? You can't keep pouring out without taking time for God to pour in. You can't keep being a blessing without partaking yourself of God's blessing. It is good to be giving. However, when you start to give beyond what is being given to you then you are depleting your resources for ministry. People say, "You can never out give God" but if you aren't taking opportunity to receive from Him then what you have from Him now is diminishing. 2 Cor.4:7.
Awhile ago a call went out for prayer for a precious minister we know in Indonesia. He needed prayer for healing because he had contracted a debilitating disease. He had been ministering at a location about 4 hours out of Pontianak, Kalimantan, Indonesia in the middle of Dayak country. He and his wife had been working very hard setting up and running a ministry training centre. The disease he had was one most commonly contracted when you are physically run down. As I prayed for him I was caused to reflect on the importance of taking good care of ourselves.
Taking care of your well-being is the act of a visionary. The Bible declares, "The hard-working farmer must be first to partake of the crops." This is an important principle. The farmer needs to stay strong, healthy and with good provision so that he can continue to provide food for others. If he depletes his own resources then his work of sowing and reaping is in jeopardy. If this were to bring his work to a halt then many could go hungry. The Spirit declares, "Spiritual farmer, see to it you are built up daily in God!" 2 Tim.2:6.
Take care of yourself
