God listens in

by Pastor Simon

Those who feared the Lord spoke to one another, And the Lord listened and heard them; So a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who fear the Lord and who meditate on His name.

Malachi 3:16 - NKJV

Can you imagine having a book of remembrance written before God for you? The Bible verse above tells us that such a book has been written! It is fair to assume that having such a book drew God's favour. Indeed, in the New Testament we read of a man who had a memo come up before God for him. The man's name was Cornelius. He was a centurion who was a man of prayer and devotion to God. The memo drew God's favour. Having that memo resulted in salvation being preached to him and his family getting saved. Acts 10:1-4.

The Bible verse above has a startling context to it! Leading up to it we hear about a bunch of people who had been mouthing off complaints. It was all over what they viewed as God's lack of activity in their lives. Thankfully, those who feared the Lord didn't stay silent. In contrast, they stirred themselves up to have God-honouring communications together! The Lord listened in. In response a book of remembrance was written in His presence especially for them! Heb.10:24-25.

Stay out of complaint, grumbling, negative talk and aimless criticisms among yourselves. God listens in. Speak to one another about your prayer requests, tell your testimonies to brothers and sisters and share your difficulties with your ministry team. God is listening in with a favourable ear when you share your godly longings, visions, plans, testimonies and prayer requests with one another in your church community. Such conversation is heard and responded to by Heaven.

God's favour is towards those whose conversation glorifies God!
