Your Christian testimony
You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men; clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God.
2 Corinthians 3:2-3 - NKJV
Some years ago I had an interesting conversation with my children around the dining table. It started when I said, "I had lunch with one of your teachers today." They were surprised and wanted to know more. I continued, "Yes, so-and-so (I gave his name) is part of a church ministry team and he was at our ministers lunch meeting." Their response surprised me, "We would never have imagined he was a Christian!" So I asked, "If I was a teacher at your school would you know I was a Christian?" "Yes, no doubt about it!" came their replied.
Certain things can cloak your identity as a Christian. A major one relates to what drives your conduct in your work place or profession. What is behind what you do? Is how you live and act arising out of the fact that you have your existence like a branch in the Vine, Jesus Christ? Or, is your conduct the way it is simply because you are conforming to the common ways and attitudes of your profession? If it is the latter, how will anyone see that you are a Christian when you are in that role?
There is a way to live that will make you easily "read of all men" as a Christian. Here are three aspects of that way: 1) Have morning devotions - start your day in God's presence. 2) Give time for God's Spirit to daily write on your heart a scripture that lives for you. 3) Bless the Lord at all times, let His praise continually be on your lips. Psa.34:1.
Live life in Christ!
