Oil of anointing

by Pastor Simon

It is like the precious oil upon the head, running down on the beard, the beard of Aaron. Running down on the edge of his garments.

Psalm 133:2 - NKJV

It is time to rejoice that you partake of Christ's anointing. There is a flow coming down of the oil of gladness from Christ, the head of the Church. This flow of the anointing oil runs down over the Body of Christ, the Church. Jesus of Nazareth was anointed with the Holy Spirit and with power. (See Acts 10:38) It is this anointing that declared Him as the Christ, the Anointed One.

The apostle Peter wonderfully announces that as Christians we are priests to our God. (See 1 Peter 2:5,9) How is this possible? It's possible because Jesus became our High Priest after the power of an endless life. In accepting Him we became His brethren and so, after this power of an endless life, we have become priests among men serving before God. There's no need for you to break into a sweat over this, for like the priests of the Old Covenant you have an anointing for this role. This anointing you have received is the spiritual oil of the Holy Spirit running down over you as the Body (the Church) from the Head (Jesus Christ). Lev.8:12, Ex.30:30, 1Joh.2:20.

Respond to the anointing. You can live your life as a Christian under the flow of Christ's anointing oil. Under this flow you can serve God with the sacrifices of praise. A Christian is a little anointed one, anointed with the anointing from Christ, the Anointed One. You can touch today by the anointing the life of someone you come in contact with. At the very least, it can be a touch of kindness, gentleness or God's goodness in some form. It might even be a healing touch. Gal.5:22-23. Heb.13:15.

May the anointing flow on you in life today
