The Father's Mercy
As a father pities his children, so the Lord pities those who fear Him. For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust.
Psalm 103:13-14 - NKJV
I pulled the kitchen appliance away from the wall and reached down the back to retrieve the biscuit-container lid. My youngest boy had caused it to fall down there but now needed it back. He called me over to help and I set about getting it for him. Isn't this how most godly parents are? They help their children out even though the problem is of their children's own making.
God is like this too! He has a heart for His children to rescue them even when their present mess is their own fault. The Bible relates to us us an example of this. In time of famine a pot of stew was cooking for the sons of the prophets. Then one foolish fellow threw wild gourds into the stew even though he had no idea what they were. It wasn't until it was served that someone cried out, "There's death in the pot!" Under normal circumstances they'd have had to suffer the consequences of this and gone hungry. Nevertheless, Elisha stood forth as God's prophet and by God's power cured the pot of its poison. As a result they were able to eat a hearty meal without harm. 2Kgs.4:38-41.
God's got a rescue plan for you from your crisis or catastrophe no matter how much the mess was your own fault! It's often your own behaviour that gets you into trouble but God is willing to deliver you. Confess your sin, accept God's forgiveness and call on Him to save you. By His Spirit, because of His faithfulness and His lovingkindness, He will lead you out of your mess and into His victory! 2Cor.2:14.
Be confident God loves you as His child!
