Speaking the Truth
Put away from you false and dishonest speech, and willful and contrary talk put far from you.
Proverbs 4:24 - Amplified Bible
The words you use in talking about things do matter. Applying consistency to what you say is important. My wife and I, through ministry in the early 1990s, got a revelation of how God desires to bless His people financially. This gave us an expectation in that area of our lives yet months passed and nothing seemed to change. Finally, I asked the Lord about it. In my spirit I heard Him reply, "Look at all the times you say to people, 'We can't afford it.' You say that on earth while to Heaven you say, 'My God shall supply all my need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.' The one statement interferes with the other!" Phil.4:19.
Awhile after that an incident happened which illustrated this interference. At that time, sometimes the remote control for my TV would change the channels and sometimes it wouldn't. One day my wife said, "I know why the remote control often doesn't work." Well, that got my attention. She explained, "It's the other infra red device you sometimes have out in front. Take it out of the way and the TV remote control works fine." I was sceptical but tried it. Sure enough the moment the other device was out of the way it worked. Clearly, one beam was interfering with the other.
Be mindful of the words of your mouth and the "beam" they send out into the world. God's word going out of your mouth can change things but, for it to work, you've also got to stop uttering other words that oppose and interfere with those words of God. Start transmitting from your mouth God's promises. Stop transmitting all other contradictory messages.
