The Father's gifts
God our Father - who has loved us and given us unending encouragement and unfailing hope by his grace.
2 Thessalonians 2:16 - J.B. Phillips' Translation
Think of it - by His grace we have in God access to unending encouragement and unfailing hope! I count God's unending encouragement and His unfailing hope as very precious because it lifts me above the heaviness of daily existence in this world. In today's pressured world I rejoice in God for His provision of these two priceless assets. 1Cor.9:15.
Each Christmas my children delight in the presents they have under the Christmas tree. They get excited just glimpsing the packages waiting for them and they're quick to gleefully tell their brothers and sisters as much as they know about them. Isn't this how we should be over what God is giving us by His grace? God's gifts of encouragement and hope are there waiting to be unwrapped by us. Look for them and the moment you see them - even just an edge or a corner of them - start expressing your excitement. Speak to yourself and tell someone else of this encouragement and hope you're getting from God the Father! 1Pet.3:15.
You are a child of God. What the Father has given to you in the realm of your soul and your spirit is far better than any material gift you could desire! Show your appreciation at receiving encouragement and hope from God. Unwrap His gifts and put them on show in your life to the glory of God! You have a wonderful Heavenly Father who knows how to give good gifts to you, His child. Mat.7:11.
