Fruit of the spirit
The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
Galatians 5:22-23 - NKJV
What do we remember most about people? Is it what they do and say or is it more how they are to be around? In general my memory of people is of how I felt in their presence rather than what they said or did. Isn't that how it is with you? You take your leave from someone and take with you the feeling he or she gave you while you were together. I had a meeting with someone yesterday and left carrying the warmth of our interaction.
What feeling do we give? What do we do for people? Yes, people will occasionally be reminded of things we did. However, their most enduring memory of us will be how they felt around us and the climate they experienced in our presence. Did we make the sun come out for them? As Christians wouldn't it be good if the light and warmth of the Son of Righteousness always arose over people when ever we were with them! There is a climate we can carry which will always do this. That climate is called "the fruit of the Spirit".
The fruit of the Spirit creates a sphere of blessing that moves as you move! Walk in the fruit of the Spirit and it is not just your life that is blessed. Those you meet also find refreshing and strengthening from it. The fruit of the spirit is the product that the Holy Spirit produces in your spirit when you maintain a living union with Christ. It is love, joy, peace and much more. It is the character and disposition of God. Jesus instructed, "He who abides in Me and I in him bears much fruit." See Joh.15:4-5, Col.2:6-7.
May His fruit abound in you!
