Our protection in God

by Pastor Simon

We know that through the work of the Spirit all the different events of life are being made to work for good, for those who keep on loving God, those whom his purpose has called.

Romans 8:28 - Barclay's translation

As I outlined in a previous devotional message God's Spirit is at work behind the scenes of your life. I have to admit though that often in our human sight things don't look that way. I know this may not be how they look to you right now. You could well be distressed at how things look. Nevertheless, let me encourage you to have spiritual vision to see beyond the visible trouble to the invisible working of the Holy Spirit! Psa.5:12.

Here's an illustration worth reflecting on. There was a noise from behind the curtain so someone drew it aside. There, fluttering desperately from side to side across the window pane, was a butterfly in distress. The cause of that distress was clear, on the other side of the glass a bird was seeking to make it its prey! Do you sometimes behave like that butterfly unaware of the invisible barrier protection? In that unawareness your desperate fluttering can harm you. Stop now and find rest in the assurance that while you're living in God's house there is a spiritual pane of glass between you and trouble. Psa.27:1-6.

Rest in peace behind the window pane in God's house! The Bible tells you, "A spectator shall you be, yourself inaccessible (to destruction) in the secret place of the Most High." There is a key that the Bible provides to activating all this - with prayer and praise dwell in the secret place of the Almighty! Psa.27:4, Psa.91:8,1.
