Finding God's peace

by Pastor Simon

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made know to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7 - NKJV

How much are you acting on the instruction the Bible portion above provides? How much are you experiencing its promise of peace? This Bible portion is very important to your Christian life, particularly in these days of pressure. That instruction holds the promise of a enviable condition existing in your life! Learn more about following it.

I'm quick to make requests to the Lord about the things I have concern over. Recently, though, I prayed in this way but afterwards still felt some inner anxiety. My response was to get back into prayer. I prayed in the Holy Spirit with my Bible open before me. As I did this, the Holy Spirit took me to scriptures I could pray around. Soon these scriptures were satisfying my need for direction and they were also giving me good grounds for making my requests. In doing this the sense of anxiety I had had lifted.

Is concern still niggling at you even after prayer? If so, you have more work to do in prayer! When will your heart settled down in peace? When both your mind and heart are persuaded by God's Word that you have grounds for receiving. Prayer settles your soul down as you reach the point where it's been established in your heart that heaven's resources are available to you to meet your earthly need. Mar.11:24.

Continue in prayer until you know it's settled!
