The Kingdom of God
You must therefore, as you have been taught, divest yourselves of that old personality, which was characteristic of the way in which you used to live...You must have a completely new attitude of mind. You must put on that new personality, which was divinely created.
Ephesians 4:22-24 - Barclay's Translation
Are you experiencing the kingdom of God? In your spirit from the moment of you are born again you embrace the kingdom of God. However, your soul - which is your mind, emotions and will - can be keeping it out of real manifestation in your life. An unruly soul, an untransformed mind, can prevent you truly experiencing the kingdom of God in your life. Do you know what I'm talking about? It's your soul that determines your experience of God's kingdom. It determines how much you enjoy righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
Here's some pointers on "putting on that new personality which was divinely created". 1) Take a deep bath daily in the cleansing water of God's word - you'll be less moody and irritable. 2) Go into the presence of God and deposit with Him your cares - it will dispel your anxiety and fear. 3) Let the Holy Spirit put praise, thanksgiving and wholesome speech on your tongue - it'll bring an end to complaining conversation.
Barclay's translation of the apostle Paul instruction declares, "Divest yourselves of that old personality." Do you know what Paul's intention is there? He's wanting you to be both reflecting and experiencing the Kingdom of God in your life. Follow that exhortation. Now add praying, as in the Lord's prayer, "Thy kingdom come" and you can move towards experiencing the Kingdom of God because of the evident presence of righteous, peace and joy in your life. Mat.6:10, Rom.14:17b.
May God's kingdom be found in your life
