The Daily Guide
Adventures for Christ
Behold, I send an Angel before you to keep you in the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared.
Exodus 23:20 - NKJV
Salvation through Jesus ought to be the start for the believer of a marvellous journey. It's a journey with Christ into His glory. It's a journey with a sense of fulfilment. It's a journey every Christian needs to take. As another new year gets under way let's break camp and move out with the directions of the Holy Spirit. Christianity starts to get really exciting when you leave "home-base" and set off on the Gospel journey through life. Prov.4:18, Phil.3:12, Psa.84:5.
Your navigator on the journey is the Holy Spirit - the Angel of the verse above! The Bible is your set of maps. Have a good look regularly over the maps with your Navigator. Let the Holy Spirit show the best routes to take during this year. If you try to make this journey without your Navigator's help you'll find problems ahead on the road. You'll even come to a standstill on your journey. The times you land in the ditch are the times when you don't consult Him or heed His guidance. Your journey can be a good one even through the worst terrain. Isa.48:17, Joh.16:13.
God's Spirit is an excellent navigator. He can keep you on the road and up to speed. God's Spirit will keep you informed as to whether you need to slow down - or speed up to take advantage of a "break in the weather". As any good driver will tell you, you've got to adjust your speed to match the state of the road. And, remember, sometimes you've got to be willing to turn around and go back to the turning you missed!
May you journey this year with the Holy Spirit!
