The Sacrifice of Praise

by Pastor Simon

By Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.

Hebrews 13:15 - NKJV

Praise is a spiritual offering. You raise your praise to God and He accepts it as an offering. When you raise your voice, raise your heart and raise your hands in praise you operate in the power of praise. Your voice, your heart and your hands raised in praise are instruments of your faith and instruments of your soul and spirit in service to God. King David praised that way. The blessing in which he walked was in large part due to his continuous offering of praise to God. Ro.6:13, Psa.63:3-5.

Victories that would otherwise only be attained at great cost can be gifted to you by praise. The classic example of this is Jehoshaphat appointing singers and praisers to go before his army. As they praised, God gave a great victory without ever a clash of weapons being necessary. Are you a praiser offering the sacrifice of praise to God continually? As God's people offer the sacrifice of praise they experience God returning them from captivity and restoring the desolate places of their lives. 2Chron.20:20-24, Jer.33:7-13.

Hands hung at knee level is not a posture of praise. Making an offering of praise with uplifted hands raises the level of your faith! It will also bring encouragement to your soul. Hands hanging down represent discouragement. You won't stay discouraged for long if you'll get your hands reaching up to heaven in praise! Committed praise that engages your whole being raises your faith level, raises your courage level and raises your worship level. Heb.12:12; Ro.4:20.

Watch as praise returns victory!
