Governing in our world
I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
Matthew 16:19 - NKJV
What a promise! Christ gives His followers spiritual authority. Those who believe that Jesus is the Christ will govern spiritually on earth. They will use the Kingdom keys He will give them. This is not about political government. It's about governing in the way Adam was put on earth to do. Adam was to have dominion and shape his world by wisdom and love. He lost this through sin but Christ restores it to the children of God. Gen.1:28, Mar.11:23.
How do you pray when the matter requiring prayer is one you've never faced before? As with all prayer you should begin by entering into the Father's presence in the name of Jesus with praise and worship! How do you continue prayer? Welcome the Holy Spirit to lead you! For example, a father complained about the behaviour of one of my children. How was I to pray over this? I looked to the Holy Spirit and He prompted me to pray - 1) for peace in the relationship, 2) for her classmate and 3) to bind any disruptive, wicked spirits behind the problem. Prov.16:7, Mat.16:19.
In prayer ask in the name of Jesus and ask according to the Spirit's leading. God's Spirit knows better than you do how to pray! He has the insight into situations that you can't possibly possess and He has the keys you need for unlocking peace and for locking up destruction. Those keys will be formed in you by the promises and the counsel of scripture He gives you.
Jesus has the prayer keys you need!
