Diligent in the Spirit

by Pastor Simon

Let every person carefully scrutinize his own conduct and his own work. He can then have the personal satisfaction and joy of doing something commendable.

Galatians 6:4 - Amplified Bible

Have you ever put a jigsaw puzzle together? I often did when I was a child and I remember how unsatisfied I felt if one piece was missing. This is true for your life in the Kingdom of God too. You have a sense of satisfaction in the Kingdom when you've got all the pieces in the right places. Psa.36:8.

It is surprising how quickly things in your life can get out of place. When they do you start to feel uneasy and find yourself fretting or behaving restlessly. You often don't know what's causing you to feel the way you do. It has an impact on you, though, even to the point of finding love, joy and peace and the other fruits of the spirit noticeably absent in you. What can you do about it? If I notice this within myself I seek the Lord in prayer. I spend time in His presence. I allow Him by His Spirit to direct my attention to what needs adjustment in my life or to what change is needed in my heart so that His kingdom will have proper manifestation in my life.

Are you keeping an eye on how things are with you? If there are warning signs of uneasiness it's a time to "carefully scrutinize your own conduct and work". This will help you pick up on the tell-tale signs of any decline in your spiritual condition. If you don't do this you can wake up very late to the state you're in. Avoid this by praying in the Holy Spirit daily. Give God's Spirit time to minister to you a revelation of the changes, adjustments and additions you need in your life and its affairs so that in it you may experience God's kingdom! See Psa.144:11-15.

Be diligent to consider your condition
