Restoring your garden
Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress tree, And instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree; And it shall be to the Lord for a name, For an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.
Isaiah 55:13 - KJV
I'm not a great gardener but I enjoy keeping our home garden tidy. Simply tidying it - cutting the lawn and hedges and doing the weeding - has made an amazing difference to it since we've lived here. One particular morning I took my prayer time in the garden. As I did my attention was caught by a brier poking through a bush that would need uprooting. At that I heard a word in my heart saying, "That brier is like the niggling problem you have in your affairs. Call on God to remove it!"
You have to be vigilant against briers because they grow up quickly. Briers left growing don't just smother other plants they also spawn more briers since every place they touch down they take root and begin growing out of that point. It's little help also to just chop briers back. Chopped-back briers get right back to growing again. Briers need taking out from the root whether they are the briers of the garden or briers of this life!
Are there briers in the garden of your life's affairs right now? Get God the Gardener in! The Lord can remove those brier s from their roots. Call on the Lord. Pray presenting the promises of God like, "No weapon formed against you shall prosper" and "The Lord will cause your enemies to be defeated before your face." Look confidently to God to put your garden in order and you'll get to see pleasant trees and goodly plants spring up. Isa.54:17, Deut.28:7, 2Tim.4:17-18.
May you see your life's garden flourish!
