Song of the Lamb
They were singing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, and this is what they were singing, 'Lord God, you hold all things in your power, and great and marvellous are your deeds, Just and true are your ways, King of the nations...'
Rev.15:3-4 - Barclay's translation
Who were singing the song of Moses and the song of the Lamb? God's victorious people gathered from all parts of the earth as seen in John's vision. The time to start practising that song is now! If you keep living much longer, the day will come when in the twinkling of an eye your body will be changed into a glorified body and you'll be caught up to meet the Lord in the clouds. From there you'll enter Heaven and meet up with all the saints to sing as one. Rev.7:9-17, Phil.3:21.
Sometime ago, I was stood in front of my computer with the names of those who daily receive this devotional coming up on the screen. I was raising my hands, praying in the Spirit for everyone and I started to visualise all of us in one large hall praising God together. I was reminded that we are from many different nations yet God has called us one body; His people, the Body of Christ. As we worship the Lord honouring Him daily wherever we are around the world we are to God the sweet fragrance of Christ and our prayers come up before Him amidst the smoke of incense in His sanctuary! 2Cor.2:15, Rev.8:3-4.
Our worship and our supplications delight God! It brings His blessing, favour and peace into the sphere of our lives. Never underestimate the power of one saint who worships in the grace of Christ's Church to transform the community and surroundings in which he or she lives!
Worship the Lord in song, bless His name!
