Crisis Counsel From God!

by Pastor Simon

Some told Jehoshaphat, "A great multitude is coming against you..." Jehoshaphat stood...in the house of the Lord and said, "O our God will You not judge them? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You."

2 Chronicles 20:2,5,12 - NKJV.

How did Jehoshaphat respond to the distress he found himself in? Did he fret and fume, voicing his doubts and fears to his wife and his co-workers? No, he went straight to the Lord and poured out his heart before Him; just as scripture admonishes God's people to do. (Psalm 62:8)

In the face of catastrophy or overwhelming adversity, when the pressure is mounting, you are to pour out your heart to the Lord. Do this and a stillness beyond comprehension will come over your soul. In the stillness you will be able to hear the voice of God's Spirit. He will speak to you words of courage and words that counsel you out of crisis on to victory.

Stop fretting; pray! Pour out your heart to God.
