(Jesus) who was betrayed and put to death because of our misdeeds and was raised to secure our justification (our acquittal). Therefore, since we are justified (acquitted, declared righteous, and given a right standing with God) through faith, let us (grasp the fact that we) have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Romans 4:25-5:1 - Amplified Bible.
By the blood of His cross Jesus has made peace for us with God. By His death and in His resurrection Jesus has taken out of the way the enmity that was between us through our wicked works. The peace of reconciliation is now ours to have and to enjoy.
We have a new relationship of peace with the Father that has been made possible at the cost of Jesus' death. His blood has acquitted us and redeemed us from all our wickedness. By this He has brought us - once and for all - into a position of right standing with Him in which we can forever more enjoy God's peace.
